Welcome Home Noemi! See You Again Fr. Egay!

** Ate Noemi Hubilla and her family arrived from Baltimore, Maryland, US last June 17. Her co-lectors and commentators were ecstatic as she joined them in their monthly meeting yesterday. Ate Noemi left Manila in 2007 after her fruitful years of service to the parish as Coordinator of the Lectors and Commentators' Ministry. Welcome home and enjoy your vacation Ate Noemi!

** Fr. Egay Cleofe dropped by last Sunday to say goodbye temporarily. He is leaving for Virginia, US on Tuesday, June 23. He is being sent there by his diocese as a priest on-mission for 5 years after the bishop of Virginia asked their bishop for help. MMJP will miss Fr. Egay, the gentle giant (parang butanding) from Sorsogon.

ME Anniversary and Solemnity of Sacred Heart

Congratulations to the Good Shepherd Marriage Encounter Community- Comembo Chapter (GSMEC) on their 10th year of service to our parish. Last June 13, they celebrated their anniversary with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 3pm followed by a program complete with surprise numbers and fun games at the Cardinal Sin Hall. It was good to see a reunion of all batches and those responsible for bringing ME to Comembo. Thanks to the efforts of Sis. Cookie and Bro. Ed Yongque. Many of our very active parishioners are graduates of GSMEC. Kudos to the present leadership headed by Ate Jing and Kuya Monching Bonifacio.

Today is the Solemnity of Christ the King and the launching of the Year of the Priests (June 19, 2009 to June 19, 2010) as declared by Pope Benedict XVI. The worship committee headed by Leslee Ambrosio prepared a triduum for the Solemnity. In cooperation with the Apostleship of Prayer a procession was held this afternoon followed by a Holy Hour for the Sanctification of Priests. Although the Holy Eucharist was the highlight of the celebration, the Education Committee invited a guest speaker to talk about the devotion to the Sacred Heart.

Halo-Halo

The culminating activity of the May Flower Offering was held last May 24. The full-time and volunteer catechists spearheaded the activity in coordination with the Education and Worship Committees. The month-long offering of flowers to the Blessed Mother with daily catechism was participated well by young children from the different BEC's of the parish. Kudos to the energetic and creative catechists.

The annual parish outing was held last May 30. Around 150 parishioners left MMJP around 5am for Cuyab Hot Springs in Laguna. It was rainy the whole day but that did not stop anybody from enjoying a splash in the warm waters of the swimming pools.
